The things they say

Matt’s lost track of the days and asked when Easter was.

“It’s now,” we tell him “today.”

“No,” he says, “it’s on Friday.”

“Yes - today. Today is Good Friday. When Jesus was crucified.”

“Wasn’t much of a Good Friday for him, was it.”

Tee Hee! I was trying to explain to my daughter (aged four) about Easter and what it's all about and she wanted to know exactly how he died?! My nephew asked my sister if they nailed Jesus to the cross by his hands and feet, why didn't they nail him through his belly as well?!! Out of the mouths of babes.

Enjoy your chocolate!

Classic! :o)

I remember in an RE lesson once as a supply teacher, I was in a class of younger children and we were drawing pictures and there was this one little boy furiously drawing away in the corner, completely absorbed. I went over to check on him and he was drawing an aeroplane, which seemed odd for RE so i asked what he was drawing. He told me it was Mary and Joseph on their journey through Egypt.

(At the time I made a mental note to go back over the story with him, minus the jumbo jet lol) He pointed at each of the people he'd drawn and said 'that's Mary, that's Joseph...'. Then I noticed a figure in the front of the plane, so I asked who that was and he looked at me like I was a fool and said 'duh miss, that's Pontius the pilot!' I had to move away quickly, so he didn't think I was laughing at him :o) Priceless! Lol
