Not so funny facts and figures about we Brits!

I couldn't believe these! Then I read them again and thought, well, actually, yes I can ... I've seen people do some of them.

3 die each year testing if a 9volt battery works on their tongue.

142 were injured in 1999 by not removing all the pins from their shirts.

58 are injured using knives as screwdrivers.

31 have died since 1996 by watering their Xmas tree with the fairy lights plugged in.

4 broken arms in Xmas cracker pulling incidents.

19 have died eating Xmas tree decorations, believing they were chocolate.

101 people since 1999 have had broken bits of plastic toys pulled out of the soles of their feet.

18 had serious burns in one year due to trying on a jumper with lit cigarettes in their mouths.

543 admitted to A&E in the last two years, after opening beer bottles with their teeth.

And my two personal favourites:

5 injured in accidents involving out of control Scalextric cars "...Help, help I've been run over by a small plastic toy car ..." I'm surprised they told anyone.

And finally, last year 8 people cracked their skull ... whilst throwing up in the toilet!

Lol :o) Some truly fantastic stats there Scatty....and I can easily believe the lot! :o) Think my personal favourite is the burns whilst trying clothes on with a lit cigarette in your mouth. Having been witness to such an event I can honestly say it is hilarious from an observers point of view! And the person in question on this occasion didn't hurt themselves, so alls well that ends well eh :o)

It was the scalextric that cracked me up - we're dusting our old one off for Matt - think maybe I should do a risk assessment first!

Blimey, it all kicked of yesterday didn't it Scatty!

Firstly the BBC confirms that Arlene is being replaced and I'm really not convinced Alesha Dixon is a good addition to the judging panel. Should've heard what mum was saying! Very cross that all the guys were kept and they ditched the older woman :o/

Then to cap it all off Russell T. Davies decided to bump off my favourite character in Torchwood! Had a good cry and have concluded they may be naturally bringing the entire series to an end with this 5 part special. I know it's fictional tv, but I'm still sad (in every way!) :o(

didn't it just! Have to agree, I like Alesha but don't see what she can bring - she's there to get the viewers xfactor get - just shows how it's men doing the "thinking" doesn't it - it won't make a blind bit of difference.

I hope they're not finishing Torchwood too - already lost Robin Hood and Primeval, there'll be nothing left for me!
